Pierce County Emergency Management is recruiting for 2 Emergency Response and Incident Command Instructors to increase our instructor cadre.
Anticipate training opportunities will be held 2 to 4 times a quarter. Trainings are conducted on weekdays and weekends.

Come into the department with strong customer service skills, impeccable reliability, the capability to work a flexible work schedule, and a natural ability to teach your expertise to our emergency management professionals.
Core Daily Responsibilities:
- Be a member of a team of training professionals.
- Facilitate and train first responders, emergency management, and key stakeholders as needed.
- Determine effectiveness of training classes and procedures; recommend and implement changes.
- Establish and maintain a training library.
As a condition of employment, the applicant will need to authorize and complete a background check. Information received from the background check is reviewed case-by-case and will not necessarily remove an applicant from consideration.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 2 years of experience in practical application of Law Enforcement, Fire Service or ICS training.
- Instructor certified for ICS 300/400 classes or
- Instructor certified for Active Shooter Response techniques to include Multi-Assault Counter-Terrorism Action Capabilities (MACTAC) and Rescue Task Force (RTF) concepts or
- Instructor certification per NFPA 1670.

- Ability to successfully complete all required background investigations including fingerprinting.

This is a competitive selection process. Your application will be reviewed and evaluated for the quality and quantity of education/experience in the areas listed.
