The Systems Designer will play a critical role in supporting engineering and aftermarket teams by designing technical layouts, creating accurate drawings, and developing Bill of Materials (BOM) for aftermarket support. This role involves working cross-functionally with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure the accuracy and feasibility of system designs, utilizing computer-aided drafting (CAD) software. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate customer requirements into viable engineering solutions.
YOUR IMPACT:
- Utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) practices to update and review drawings in collaboration with senior engineers.
- Develop 3D and 2D layouts of components, medium assemblies, and sub-weldments using CAD software.
- Support sales efforts by translating customer needs into technical design proposals, assisting in pre-sales discussions, and presenting solutions for large repairs, refurbishments, and obsolescence replacement.
- Aid in creation of service repair or upgrade kits to contribute to sales growth
- Collaborate with internal teams, external suppliers, and customers to gather technical data and ensure design feasibility.
- Ensure drawing accuracy, organization, dimensioning, and tolerance conventions comply with CAD standards.
- Utilize ERP systems to create and manage part numbers, ensuring proper naming conventions and data entry standards.
- Develop and modify medium complexity BOMs, ensuring compliance with department procedures.
- Provide technical assistance for service issues and support to engineering and sales teams.
- Utilize aftermarket communication systems to manage workflows with internal and external customers.
- Assist in cost estimation, feasibility studies, and proposal development for customer solutions.
- Travel as required between Wisconsin-based facilities or customer locations for technical discussions and project coordination.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree with two (2) years of experience in design OR Associate’s degree and six (6) years of experience in design.
STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience and/or training in GD&T.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to a fast pace environment.
- Detail oriented.
- Capable of using standard Windows Office tools including SharePoint, email, and CAD tools.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Pay Range:
$63,500.00 - $101,700.00The above pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Within this range, individual pay is determined by various factors, including the scope and responsibilities of the role, the candidate's experience, education and skills, as well as the equity of pay among team members in similar positions.
