Mechanic I Offer : Applicants may be offered a Mechanic I opportunity if they do not possess sufficient proficiency to be hired as a Technician. Those hired at the Mechanic I classification will be given on-the-job training with the end goal of achieving Heavy Duty Diesel Technician standing. Starting 2025 pay for Mechanic I is $42.17 per hour.

Paid Time Off : Full-time Pierce Transit employees are eligible to receive 11 paid holidays, 2 personal paid holidays, 12 days of sick leave, 12 vacation days per year to start, and the ability to earn 2 Wellness Days. Vacation leave accrual rates increase per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Shift Requirements : Please note that, due to seniority-based shift assignments, all new employees will likely initially be assigned to either swing or graveyard shifts, following CDL training.
Swing Shift : Between 12 : 00 p.m. to 8 : 00 p.m.
Graveyard Shift : Between 8 : 00 p.m. to 3 : 00 a.m.
