Responsibilities
As an Assistant Director of Nursing, you will support the Director of Nursing with the delivery of efficient and effective nursing care while achieving positive clinical outcomes, patient/family and employee satisfaction. You will serve as a clinical operational liaison between the nursing units and the Director of Nursing.
Your key responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the quality of clinical operations of the nursing units, including compliance with Genesis policies and procedures, practice standards and regulations.
- Collaborating with the Director of Nursing to develop, allocate and control the budget for the nursing department.
- Fostering an environment of continuous improvement and mentoring staff to achieve top-of-license practice.
- Assisting with nurse staffing, including performance evaluations, interviews and orientation of nurses.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- A graduate degree from an accredited school of nursing or related field.
- A current Registered Nurse/RN license by the State Board of Nursing.
- Minimum 3 years full-time or equivalent clinical experience; at least 2 years' experience in nursing supervision in the long-term care setting is required.
- Knowledge of the MDS process, state nurse practice acts, and state and federal regulations.
