Estate Planning Paralegal
Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Estate Planning Paralegal to assist attorneys in preparing estate planning documents and interacting with clients. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent drafting skills, and the ability to work directly with clients to understand their needs.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and draft estate planning documents, including Wills, trusts, powers of attorney, living wills, and healthcare directives, under the guidance of an attorney.
- Customize documents based on individual client situations, ensuring accuracy and clarity in all drafts.
- Assist attorneys in conducting initial client intake interviews to gather relevant personal, financial, and family information required for document drafting.
- Coordinate communication with clients, answering inquiries and ensuring all necessary documents and information are collected in a timely manner.
- Maintain client confidentiality while managing sensitive financial and personal data.
- Ensure all executed documents are properly signed, notarized, and filed in accordance with state law.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience in estate planning or related legal fields.
- At least 3 years of experience drafting estate planning documents or in a similar paralegal role with a focus on wills, trusts, and related legal documents.
- Proficiency in using legal software such as Clio, NetDocuments, Wealth Docx preferred.
