Job Summary: The Busser and Food Runner roles are essential to ensuring a smooth and efficient dining experience for guests. The primary purpose is to support the waitstaff, maintain cleanliness, deliver food promptly, and provide exceptional service to all guests.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Busser Duties:

• Table Maintenance:
• Clear dirty dishes, glassware, and silverware from tables promptly and efficiently.
• Wipe down tables and chairs to maintain a clean dining environment.
• Reset tables with clean linens, silverware, and glassware.
• Dining Area Cleanliness:
• Sweep and mop floors as needed.
• Empty trash cans and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Maintain cleanliness in the dining area, including restrooms if needed.
• Support Staff:
• Assist servers with refilling water glasses and other non-alcoholic beverages.
• Bring additional utensils, napkins, or condiments to tables as requested.
• Help carry trays of food and drinks to tables when servers are busy.
• Stocking:
• Ensure that side stations are stocked with necessary supplies such as napkins, silverware, and condiments.
• Restock clean dishes, glassware, and utensils in the dining area.

Food Runner Duties:

• Order Delivery:
• Deliver food orders from the kitchen to the dining tables quickly and accurately.
• Ensure that food is presented neatly and that orders are complete.
• Communicate with the kitchen staff about any special requests or dietary restrictions.
• Guest Interaction:
• Provide a friendly and welcoming demeanor when delivering food.
• Answer basic questions about the menu and direct guests to servers for more detailed inquiries.
• Coordination:
• Work closely with servers and kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders.
• Communicate any delays or issues with food orders to the appropriate staff.
• Quality Control:
• Check that food items are prepared correctly according to guest orders before delivering them.
• Handle food items with care to maintain presentation and quality.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience: Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred but not required.
• Skills:
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining cleanliness.
• Physical Demands:
• Ability to stand, walk, and carry heavy trays for extended periods.
• Capability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Attitude: Positive, energetic, and customer-focused attitude.
