What are the responsibilities and job description for the 3rd Shift Production Lab Technician 1 position at Pig Improvement Company (PIC) - North America?
ABS Global, a Genus company, has an exciting opportunity! We are looking for a Production Lab Technician to oversee production operations, including assembly, processing, and/or packaging. The position is located at our lab in Leeds/Rio, Wisconsin. The Production Lab Technician has primary accountability for operating production equipment for processing cell sexing technology.
This position is on 3rd Shift and starting pay is $24.00/hr.
- Follow SOP and maintain lab documentation, Provide accurate, timely and quality packaging of bovine semen in accordance with ABS standards.
- Learn other ancillary processes throughout the production lab as business needs necessitate.
- Adhere to proper cleaning, sanitation and sterilization protocols for all processing and collection equipment.
- Provide ideas for improvement in the work environment.
- Communicate issues to appropriate personnel (leads, supervisors, manager, support group.
- Perform all assigned duties based on daily production needs.
- Follow safe work procedures and report any incidences.
- Perform other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
Basic Qualifications: (required)
- Must possess High School diploma or equivalent.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to list/transfer 50 lbs. frequently.
- Strong attention to detail and focus on always maintaining the highest level of quality.
- Ability to perform basic math skills.
- Ability to utilize a computer, keyboard, and mouse to accomplish work tasks (includes but is not limited to the ability to look at computer monitor screens for the entirety of assigned shift).
- Ability to work well within a team environment.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Experience within a production laboratory setting is preferred.
Working Conditions:
- Stand for extended periods of time.
- Monitor equipment and computer for prolonged periods of time.
- Exposure to chemicals occasionally (PPE is provided).
1st Shift: 6:00a - 2:30p $21.00/hr.
2nd Shift: 2:00p - 10:30p $23.00/hr.
3rd Shift: 10:00p - 6:30a $24.00/hr.
