ABS Global, a Genus company, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a Global Manufacturing Engineering Manager to oversee manufacturing engineering operations and ensure the successful production, deployment, and maintenance of instruments globally. This position will lead efforts to support product development, improve operational efficiency, and manage the fleet of instruments and related hardware. Additionally, the role is responsible for developing and implementing a global maintenance program to ensure the reliability and longevity of equipment in support of business objectives. The role will also implement and maintain a "Relentless Improvement" program across all regions.
- Oversee the manufacturing process for new instruments, ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to timelines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and optimize processes.
- Provide engineering support for internal and third-party instrument servicing.
- Manage the Field Service Engineering team to ensure effective service and support for internal and customer instruments.
- Develop training programs and technical documentation for field service engineers.
- Monitor and improve the performance and efficiency of service operations globally.
- Partner with the product development team to support the design, prototyping, and launch of new technologies.
- Ensure manufacturing readiness for new product introductions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing and service operations to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Implement Lean manufacturing principles and practices across teams.
- Oversee the global fleet of instruments, ensuring proper tracking, maintenance, and availability to meet business needs.
- Manage hardware inventory to ensure adequate supply for manufacturing and service operations.
- Develop and implement a global maintenance program to ensure the reliability and longevity of the instrument fleet and other lab equipment.
- Standardize maintenance practices and documentation across regions.
- Monitor and analyze maintenance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
Basic Qualifications: (required)
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in an engineering field. Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred.
- 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, operations, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Proven expertise in Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines.
- Experience with product development and new product introduction processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Travel up to 10% globally to support regional teams and initiatives.
- Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional environment.
- Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the biotech or life sciences industry.
- Knowledge of instrument maintenance programs and reliability engineering.
- Experience leading Capital Investment projects (CAPEX) and management of fixed assets.
- Familiarity with inventory management and fleet tracking systems.
