Job Description
A Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) is responsible for the management, treatment, control, and care of patients with respiratory deficiencies. They must demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide age-specific care, from newborn to geriatric patients.
The RCP assesses patient data, interprets relevant information, and identifies patient needs relative to their age-specific requirements. They provide care in accordance with department policy and procedures.
This role requires the ability to resolve biophysical, psychological, educational, and environmental needs of patients and their significant others when administering care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and interpret patient data reflective of their status
- Provide age-specific care from newborn to geriatric patients
- Administer care in accordance with department policy and procedures
- Resolve biophysical, psychological, educational, and environmental needs of patients
Requirements
Education and Licensure:
- Licensed RCP by the State of California
- Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) Credential
Experience:
- New Grad experience preferred, but not required
- Must be competent to assess care given to pediatric, adolescent, or geriatric patients
Certifications:
- Adult ACLS, BCLS, Pediatric (PALS) certification required
- Valid Los Angeles County Fire Card
