IT Security Analyst-ITSECANLY

Position Summary: The Security Analyst will administer various information systems and tools to protect the company’s data and assets from cyber security threats. The IT Security Analyst also provides support for information security processes, including support for management of security incidents within the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Monitors a combination of industry leading security tools to identify, mitigate, and recover from threats.
• Collaborates with users to identify security threats and violations and participates in incident response procedures.
• Reviews various security tools including endpoint and email detection daily; remediates end user systems as necessary.
• Assists in the development and implementation of plans to safeguard digital data from accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure.
• Responsible for implementing and managing company-wide security awareness training.
• Monitors and restricts access to sensitive, confidential, or other high-security data.
• Safeguards system security and improves overall server and network efficiency by running vulnerability assessments and participating in patch management process.
• Monitors current reports of computer viruses, IOCs, malware file hashes, etc. and updates virus protection accordingly.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 2 years’ experience in technology such as help desk, desktop support, networking, or systems administration.
• Knowledge of security best practices and experience supporting cyber security tools and systems.
• Understanding of the 7 layers of the OSI model and basic networking.
• Experience using an AV/EDR solution such as Crowdstrike, SentinelOne, etc.
• Strong understanding of Windows operating systems and Active Directory
• Core Understanding of Identity and Access Management
• Basic knowledge and skills using cloud technologies such as Azure.
• Basic understanding and experience modifying and using PowerShell scripts.
• Understanding of firewalls, IDS, IPS, and network security solutions.
• Thorough understanding of security solutions, such as AV, EDR, Email Protection, Vulnerability Management, Patch Management, Risk Reduction, and End User Training
• Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as Security , PNPT, CySA, etc.
• Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Information Systems, or Computer Science.
• 2 years’ experience in technology, with network security, endpoint security and/or application security.
• Experience using a vulnerability scanning tool such as Tenable, Qualys, OpenVAS, etc.
• Experience using a variety of security tools and methodologies for monitoring, analysis, and investigations.
• Experience managing network firewalls and associated layer 7 profiles.
