Overview
KENNEL ATTENDANT:
We are looking for highly motivated, dependable individuals who can work in a fast pace environment. Shelter work is not an easy job, but it is rewarding. We work around the clock to ensure these animals have a safe, warm, and loving environment while awaiting their furever homes. This position can be filled by anyone, we will not discriminate against gender, race, or sexual orientation. If you have been convicted of a crime, that will not deter us unless it is a violent crime, or animal abuse charge. Everyday is different here, you never know what the day will bring. We need someone that can adapt to change and work quick on their feet when need be.

Day to day operations include
-Feeding breakfast/dinner
-Dispensing morning/night medications
-Letting dogs out
-Cleaning and sanitizing kennels and outdoor runs
-Ensure all dogs have clean bedding/water
-Taking dogs to vet if needed
-Ensure all outdoor yards are clean and waste free
-Sweeping/moping floors
-Wash dishes
-Laundry
-Report any possible illness or injury to Kennel Manager
-Assist potential adopters
Requirements:
-Must be at least 21 years old
-Can lift over 40 pounds
-Must have a reliable car
-Must be available for some holidays, staff works together to figure out holiday schedules
-Comfortable handling possibly aggressive/dangerous dogs
-Strong work ethic
-Flexible schedule
-People skills
-Multitasking
-Strong animal handling skills
-Dog behavior awareness
-Previous professional animal shelter or handling work (preferred but not required)
-Comfortable working in any kind of weatherDuties
- Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, bathing, and exercising dogs and other pets.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a safe and sanitary environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff or management.
- Assist with animal restraint during grooming or veterinary procedures as needed.
- Support dog training sessions by reinforcing commands and behaviors as instructed.
- Engage with pet owners, providing updates on their pets’ well-being and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Participate in regular cleaning routines, including washing bedding, toys, and equipment used in the kennel.
- Help with administrative tasks such as record keeping and scheduling appointments when necessary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.00 - $13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
