What are the responsibilities and job description for the EMS Team Lead - Paramedic (Internal Applicants Only) position at Pike County Memorial Hospital?
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE: The EMS Supervisor is responsible for maintaining care standards within EMS. When in the role of EMS Supervisor, the Paramedic is also responsible for clinical and administrative support to all EMS personnel and assumes overall responsibility for the operation of EMS services in the absence of the Emergency Department/EMS Director and hospital administration. The EMS Supervisor maintains the standards of emergency medical care and supports the professional growth of those employees and students utilizing the clinical facilities of Pike County Memorial Hospital.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
*1. Responsible for escalation of concerns to EMS Director and administration after hours, in real time.
*2. Provides leadership and direction in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Department and the Organization.
*3 Serves as a clinical resource person.
*4 Designated duties as assigned, but not limited to:
- 911 response to community
- Clinical oversight
- Staffing/scheduling
- Education/training
- State and regulatory compliance
- State Licensure management
- ESO and NEMSIS management
- Vehicles/Equipment/Facility maintenance/repair
- Quality improvement (prospective/concurrent and retrospective)
- Risk Management & Safety
- Liaison to community
- Participate in community events and EMS Outreach activities.
- Policy/Protocol development
- Supports management decisions.
- Assist with care conversations and evaluation process.
- Real time conversations with team members with escalating of trending concerns to EMS Director
- Attend scheduled meeting/training
- Collaborate with ED House Supervisor on in-house needed support and transfers.
