Akron Log Manufacturing Specialist

Basic Function

Responsible for manufacturing and grading logs for the Akron sawmill.

Responsibilities

• Cut, scale, and grade logs to meet company specifications, using a chainsaw or skid steer attachment, for the Akron sawmill.
• Record scaled log data into electronic handheld device.
• Routine maintenance of equipment.
• Performs related work as required as directed by their supervisor.

Physical Requirements

• Be able to walk over rough terrain periodically.
• Be able to climb, squat, stoop and twist to maneuver into and out of equipment.
• Be able to sit in machine for 5 or more hours at a time.
• Be able to lift and carry 40 pounds.
