PIKES PEAK CREDIT UNION - VICE PRESIDENT
POSITION PURPOSE: The Vice President is responsible for assisting the credit union’s President/CEO in the overall management of the credit union. The Vice President has direct responsibility for the administration and supervision of front and back-end operations and branch activities within established policies and guidelines. As a member of the senior management team, the Vice President is accountable for ensuring financial stability and member satisfaction commensurate with the best interest of the members, the employees, and the credit union. The Vice President provides input on strategic direction and vision to the President/CEO.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the President/CEO in identifying trends in the industry, instituting new programs or products, and evaluating products and services.
- Direct and supervise the operational management of credit union employees on a day-to-day basis.
- Recruit, manage, develop, coach, and retain a highly motivated and well-trained staff. Evaluate performance of team members to ensure quality of work and service to members, execution of goals, as well as compliance with company policies.
- Establish and maintain effective employee relations.
- Maintain frequent contact with Branch Managers and front-line staff, providing assistance, input, feedback, and guidance concerning their daily operations.
- Monitor branch activity, including number of transactions, volume, teller errors, loan volume, teller and loan personal sales, and new accounts.
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of the budget for the credit union that is consistent with the overall strategic plan.
- Develop, apply, and evaluate policies for the credit union.
- Develop, implement, and maintain operational procedures to maximize efficiency and quality of work and provide consistent quality service to members.
- Hold periodic staff meetings. Identify areas for improvement, changes in procedures, new developments, or changes in services. Keep staff up to date on trends, exchange of ideas, and general credit union information.
- Attend board meetings and report on assigned areas as requested by the President/CEO.
- Review and develop strategic plans in relation to the overall goals of the credit union.
- Project coordinator for new products and services. Provide well-defined plans including procedures, documentation, deadlines, and accountability.
- Ensure that the credit union is in compliance with the federal laws and regulations set forth by the National Credit Union Administration and other regulatory agencies.
- Responsible for complying with the various rules and regulations governing the financial services industry including compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Abide by the credit union’s policies as set by the Board of Directors, including the Information Technology Usage Policy.
- Assist the President/CEO with lending decisions.
- Oversee and monitor the in-house and indirect loan functions of the credit union to achieve its strategic goals. Direct the work of loan managers in all lending areas to include underwriting, loan processing, loan documentation, and approval or denial of loans.
- Responsible for controlling facility costs and assisting in contract negotiations.
- Member of the credit union’s Disaster Recovery Team and Information Security Council.
- Manage and monitor the credit union’s investment portfolio. Choose investments consistent with prevailing economic conditions, the credit union’s asset/liability mix, and the credit union’s goals of safety, liquidity, and yield. Monitor and manage credit union’s liquidity and cash needs.
- Call Report preparer and reviewer.
- Asset Liability Management modeler.
- Assists the President/CEO in evaluating and setting deposit dividend rates and loan interest rates.
- Assume all accountability of the credit union President/CEO in his or her absence.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
The Vice President spends the majority of the time sitting, with occasional walking and standing in a modern indoor office. Time may be spent traveling and working irregular hours. The ability to lift up to 30 pounds may be necessary.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Vice President supervises all Branch Managers and Loan Officers. This involves hiring, performance evaluations, promotions, and salary adjustments.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Strong leadership skills, financial acumen, interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills, and problem-solving skills, along with a deep understanding of credit union operations, regulations, and the financial services industry are essential abilities for the Vice President position. Must have the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively, ensure accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks, a strong commitment to providing excellent member service, proficiency in using relevant software and technology, adaptability, a commitment to ongoing professional development, and a working knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
A bachelor’s degree, or equivalent five years upper management experience at a Financial Institution may be required.

Pay: $91,000.00 - $155,500.00 per year
