Summary
As an Umpire with Pikes Peak Sports Officials, you will be responsible for officiating baseball and softball games. Ensure the rules are followed while maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for players. Your role is vital in promoting sportsmanship and fair competition.
Responsibilities
- Officiate baseball and softball games, ensuring adherence to rules and regulations.
- Manage conflicts on the court effectively, maintaining a respectful atmosphere.
- Communicate clearly with players, coaches, and spectators regarding decisions made during the game.
- Assess player conduct and enforce penalties as necessary to uphold sportsmanship standards.
- Collaborate with other officials to ensure consistent application of rules during games.
- Provide feedback to players and coaches to enhance their understanding of the game.
Qualification
- Attend a free umpire clinic on March 9th from 12 pm to 3 pm
- Strong knowledge of baseball rules and regulations
- Proven conflict management skills to handle disputes calmly and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for clear interaction with players and coaches.
- Experience working with children in a sports setting is preferred.
- A background in sports coaching is a plus but not required.
- Must provide own umpire uniform and equipment
