Patient Care Tech-OBGYN Unit
A high school diploma or equivalency is required.
Current BLS training is required.
Formal phlebotomy training or phlebotomy experience required.
Completion of nursing fundamentals or one-year experience as a nursing assistant or completion of Nursing Assistant training or current KY State CNA certification preferred.
Assist with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice under direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. May be cross trained to draw blood samples from patients by skin punctures and venipunctures while maintaining the integrity of the specimen in relation to the test being performed. Prepares and/or collects specimens from patients through phlebotomies and distributes specimen to appropriate laboratory units. May also be cross trained to perform 12 lead EKGs.
