What are the responsibilities and job description for the PHYS RECRUITER PHYS SERV position at Pikeville Medical Center?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Recruits physicians of all specialties as needed, in designated areas.
- Works with Administration and Medical Staff to identify physician recruitment needs. Utilizes all resources available (.i.e. Internet, physician listings, medical boards, e-mail or residency programs, physician referral, conventions, job fairs).
- Provides appropriate recruitment materials to prospective physicians.
- Coordinates site visits for interested physicians.
- Conducts community tours, hospital tours, etc.
- Follows up with candidates in a timely manner.
- Keeps records of all physician correspondences.
- Works with outside recruiting firms to provide locum tenens coverage as needed.
- Performs initial interviews to determine candidate suitability for placement.
- Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
- Performs and completes with a positive attitude all other projects assigned to fulfill organizational objectives.
- Must be willing to travel.
- Adheres to dress code.
- Functions as a preceptor to orient new employees.
- Meets all departmental specific competencies.
- Adheres to hospital policies addressing infection control, safety, and personnel guidelines.
- Demonstrates knowledge of and compliance with the hospital code of conduct and applicable corporate policies and procedures.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and treats patients and families with respect and dignity.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidate should be able to operate general office equipment. Should possess knowledge in word processing and spreadsheet software.
Basic Computer skills including:
- Turn your personal computer on and off.
- Recognize the four major parts of the computer.
- Identify and explain the use of the four parts of the standard keyboard.
- Recognize the mouse and understand how to use it.
- Open and close a program using Windows.
- Recognize and understand the operator panel on a printer.
- Load paper.
EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:
A high school diploma or equivalency is required. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Communications, Public Relations, or a related area is preferred. 3 - 5 years of experience in working with the public at a professional level is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Must be organized and detail oriented.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works in a well-lighted business office environment the majority of the time.
Must be willing to travel.
