Located downstairs at Waikiki Market, our new local-style restaurant and bar will be a welcoming place to enjoy familiar comfort food, drinks and good times with friends.
We are looking for Servers to join our Piko Kitchen Bar team!
As the primary point of contact for guest interactions in the dining room, the Server is responsible for selling & serving food & beverages using their knowledge, hospitality and service skills. Must be pleasant, conscientious and professional with excellent knowledge of food & alcoholic beverage selections. Required to execute the Sequence of Service consistently and comply with safety standards. Must be able to operate effectively as part of a team, communicate clearly and ensure smooth service operations and quality service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
- Execute Server Sequence of Service consistently
- Help patrons select food and beverages by presenting menu, offering cocktails, suggesting courses, explaining the chef's specialties, identifying appropriate wines, answering food preparation questions.
- Stay updated on current menu choices, specialties and menu deviations, knowing if the kitchen staff is running out of any items, etc.
- Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons' choices, identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special requests.
- Serve orders by picking up and delivering guest orders from bar and kitchen, deliver accompaniments and condiments.
- Respond to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs, observing dining process.
Qualifications:
- High school education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Previous restaurant serving experience preferred.
- Knowledge of service procedures and extensive food and beverage knowledge.
- Excellent oral communication skills required.
- Positive interpersonal skills required
- Cleanliness, organization and the ability to work well in a team situation are crucial to this position.
- Must possess a recent TB Clearance.
