Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Cost Control and Budgeting:
- Develops and maintains project budgets in collaboration with the Project Manager
- Monitors and reports project costs, identifying variances and working with stakeholders to address discrepancies
- Prepares financial forecasts and expenditure analyses, including post analyses
Financial Reporting:
- Generates and presents periodic financial reports for internal stakeholders, tax advisors and regulatory bodies
- Documents and tracks project expenditures against budget and contract terms
- Assesses tax implications for project-related expenses and incentives, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations
Incentive Administration:
- Coordinates with state and local agencies on construction-related tax credits, rebates, and other financial incentives
- Ensures compliance with all incentive program requirements and deadlines
- Prepares and submits documentation for reimbursement claims or incentive approvals
Legal Agreement Oversight:
- Reviews and interprets project-related contracts and agreements, including vendor, contractor, and incentive documentation
- Ensures cost control measures are aligned with contract terms and legal obligations
Collaboration with Project Management:
- Serves as the financial liaison to the Project Manager, ensuring timely and accurate flow of information
- Supports decision-making with data-driven insights and financial risk assessments
- Assists in procurement and contract management with cost control considerations
Other Duties:
- Audits project invoices, including verifying compliance with contracts and approved budgets
- Assists the accounting team with month-end and year-end closing processes related to the projects
- Contributes to the development and implementation of improved financial processes and controls
- Supports ad hoc analysis and projects as required by the Controller or senior management
Requirements
Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 3-5 years of experience in cost control, project accounting, or a similar role, preferably within construction or manufacturing environments
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, tax compliance, and budget management practices
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAGE, SAP) and Excel, including advanced financial modeling
- Demonstrated ability to understand and analyze legal agreements related to contracts and incentives
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- Understanding of state and federal incentive programs related to construction projects is highly desirable

The salary range for this position is $72,685 - 93,473 per year depending on experience. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
