Pilgrim Area Collaborative is a public educational collaborative that serves students with a wide range of disabilities from primary through post-secondary levels from all over the South Shore.
This is a part-time, seasonal position to run July 7, 2025-August 14, 2025.
Qualifications: Valid State License to practice as a School Nurse in the Commonwealth
of Massachusetts; RN & BSN; Teacher Certification within first year of hiring
Reports to: Head Nurse, Program Director & Executive Director
Job Goal: To provide the fullest possible educational opportunities while maintaining a climate of health and well-being for all PAC students and staff in respective assigned school(s).
Primary Duties:
1. Provide day-to-day medical care and necessary treatment for all PAC students & staff in the respective nurse’s assigned school(s).
2. Maintain and update the medical records of all PAC students enrolled in the respective nurse’s assigned school(s) and follow procedures pertaining to confidentiality.
3. Participate as the medical component at all 3 Year Student Re-evaluations meetings (state requirement) for those students in the respective nurse’s assigned school(s).
4. Continue professional growth through an ongoing program of reading, attendance at available workshops, seminars, conferences, and/or advanced course work at institutions of higher learning.
5. Insure that all students entering PAC programs meet state/school medical requirements and/or regulations (i.e. immunizations, medications, medical histories, health records).
6. Act as health resource person for PAC staff.
7. Provide health inservice training for PAC staff as needed and consult with staff members who oversee students in schools outside of the nurse’s primary assigned school.
8. Such other duties as may be assigned by the PAC Executive Director to fulfill responsibilities as PAC Nurse.
