ACCOUNTING Specialist
DESCRIPTION
This position develops and maintains weekly inventory reconciliation schedules to ensure inventories reflect accurate meat usages. Key responsibilities are to work closely with operations and accounting management, to assure the maintenance of internal control procedures, standards, and compliance as it pertains to the Sarbanes Oxley Act and to insure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Enter Invoices into accounting system
- Reconciliation of inventory daily
- Daily & Weekly Reports to Management
- Logging in disposition of inventory
- Validating monthly inventory count with operations team
- Other duties may be assigned as production demands require
- Track, record, and distribute KPI for supervisors weekly; calculate tri-mester score
- Prepare inventory transaction documents for period-end SoX compliance
- Maintain documentation of all tasks
- Cross-train with other areas; other duties as assigned
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- 1-3 years clerical accounting experience preferred
- Must be able to meet time sensitive deadlines
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet deadlines of department, including weekends
- Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
- Must be able to examine and verify financial documents and reports
- Knowledge of SAP or comparable ERP system, Excel and Microsoft
- Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and practices
- Capable of independent decision making
- High School Diploma/GED required; Associates Degree in Accounting/Finance preferred
