Position Summary: In two - four sentences, what are the end results or purpose of this job?
Directs and coordinates the activities associated with shipping, storing of products at the Moorefield Facility by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities: List from most important to least important
Coordinates activities of shipping, Storing and distribution with activities of sales and production.
Studies shipping notices, bill of ladings, orders and other records to determine shipping priorities and work assignments required to meet shipping schedules.
Establishes operational procedures for verification for incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition or product, and keeping accurate inventory of products.
Inspects loading operations to insure compliance with shipping specifications.
Monitor incoming product to coordinate loading schedules.
Assigns workers to specific duties such as verifying amounts of and storing incoming product and assembling customer order for delivery.
Directs the movement of product from processing to appropriate storage or shipping locations.
Strictly enforces safety, OSHA, USDA, and HACCP regulations within assigned work areas.
Monitors sanitation practices to be in compliance with USDA standards and company standards.
Carries out Management responsibilities in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
Meditates and resolves work problems.
Motivates employees to achieve goals.
Supervisory Elements: Quantify and describe briefly (direct, hire, terminate, appraise, recommend, etc)
Number of employees supervised- 13
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizations, policies and applicable law. Responsibilities include interviewing, Hiring, and training employees, Planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Decision Making Authority: Describe with examples and estimate of frequency
The person filling this position exercises independent judgment and makes decisions affecting the shipping department functions at the Moorefield complex daily. Has responsibility for maintaining an accurate inventory of all frozen product. Monitoring receipt of product and shipping product in accordance with sales plan.
Must have ability to resolve issues that effect employees. This includes scheduling of incoming product, shipping according to customer demands, storage of products required, staffing, Maintaining quality assurance, implementing safe work practices and adhering to SSOP and USDA regulations along with enhancing good employee relations.

List principal contacts/customers
Internal: Work activities include contact with Shipping Manager, sales, Purchasing, processing supervision, Maintenance, HACCP technician, Quality assurance, Safety Manager, Human resource Manager, First-aid, shift supervision and leads, people and other contacts within organization as needed
External: Work activities include contact with dispatchers, carriers, drivers, Cold storages and other people outside the company as needed.
Scope
Difficulty of Duties: Supervises approximately 13 employees in shipping , trash dock and tub wash making sure job duties are completed each day in the most effective manner. This person is on call as needed to provide assistance and problem solving.
