ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Math proficiency—keep accurate documentation of hatch percentages calculated by flock
- Organizational skills—prepare paperwork associated with chick book-out for both hatchery and grower usage
- Communication—daily with hatchery management as well as other team members
- Correspondence with sister hatchery
- Assist in monitoring chick readiness prior to hatch and make machine temperature adjustments if necessary
- Participate in daily setting of eggs into incubators—pallet jack experience preferred
- Perform and monitor daily chick counts of at least once per hour
- Adaptability to chick processing times / changes in chick delivery schedule
- Confirm accurate egg settings to ensure correct hatch percentages
- Responsible for preparing and mixing daily vaccine for day old chicks
- Keep accurate inventory of day old vaccine, as well as monitoring in-ovo vaccine usage
- Load and unload full Smithway dollies onto chick trailer for haul
- Assist in clean-up after processing
- Other Duties as assigned
