First Steps 4K Teaher

Job Summary
The First Steps 4K Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing and educational environment for young learners. This role involves developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development to prepare children for five-year-old kindergarten.

Duties

• Create and implement weekly lesson plans in accordance with the First Steps 4K approved creative curriculum and ensure lesson plans are developmentally appropriate and reflect observations and assessments of individual children and goals.
• Engage constructively with individual children during activities and routines.
• Adhere to the SC First Steps 4K guidelines.
• Attend all required First Steps and Department of Social Services training and obtain required continuing education hours.
• Demonstrate effective listening, oral, and written communication skills.
• Maintain a clean, and positive work atmosphere to ensure a sanitary, safe, and healthy environment for all students, coworkers, parents, supervisors, and the public.
• Be able to communicate with families through SC First Steps web-based platform.
• Follow all SC First Steps & Pilgrims’ Inn policies and procedures at all times.
• Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their social and emotional growth.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's development and classroom activities.
• Display professional behavior.
• Others duties as assigned.

• Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and staff.

Minimum Requirements

• At least six months experience in a childcare setting.
• Provide a minimum of three references familiar with your work history.
• Able to pass a Child Abuse and Neglect Central Registry background check.
• Associate's Degree in Early Childhood with an education plan to attain a Bachelor's Degree (transcripts are required).
• Bachelor's Degree, preferred
• First Aid/CPR certification.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
