About the Position:
As a Facilities Assistant at Pilgrim's Market, you'll play a key role in ensuring our building, grounds, and equipment are well-maintained and functional. With your hands-on maintenance skills and customer service expertise, you'll support our managers and employees, ensuring a safe and clean environment for all staff and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Facility Maintenance:
- Perform a variety of general maintenance tasks, including painting, appliance repair, minor electrical work, carpentry, and other tasks as needed.
- Assist with service requests and repairs, ensuring efficient and effective completion.
- Perform repairs and replacements on general fixtures such as doors, windows, walls, flooring, ceilings, roofs, furniture, and cabinetry.
- Ensure all maintenance work is done in accordance with safety standards and company guidelines.
- Landscape and Exterior Maintenance:
- Maintain the outdoor spaces, including picking up trash, snow shoveling, leaf blowing, and general landscape care.
- Ensure that parking lots, walkways, and outside areas are safe and presentable.
- Building Systems Inspection:
- Inspect and clean in-building systems such as HVAC, plumbing, and electrical units, reporting any deficiencies or repairs needed to the supervisor.
- Perform basic cleaning and upkeep of equipment and systems.
- Safety and Cleanliness:
- Follow and adhere to the company’s safety programs, ensuring the work environment is safe for all employees.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas of the facility, contributing to a well-kept and professional environment.
Essential Job Requirements:
- Ability to safely lift up to 40 lbs repeatedly.
- Vision corrected to 20/20.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
- Experience using industrial floor cleaning machines, hand tools (hammer, drill, etc.), brooms, and mops.
- Ability to work in hot and cold environments depending on the weather.
