About the Position:
As a Meat Department Associate, you will be an essential part of the team, responsible for the production, packaging, and labeling of retail meat items. You will deliver exceptional customer service by answering customer questions, placing special orders, and ensuring the proper maintenance of retail displays. You will work closely with your team and department leadership to ensure the highest quality and safety standards are met, with an emphasis on providing an excellent shopping experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce, package, and label retail meat items in accordance with company standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering customer questions and placing special orders.
- Ensure proper maintenance and presentation of retail displays.
- Perform general department cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and trash removal, to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Collaborate with team members and department leadership to meet quality and safety standards.
- Contribute to an excellent shopping experience by ensuring high-quality products and customer satisfaction.
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum of 1 year of retail meat department experience preferred.
- Flexible availability to accommodate various shifts.
- Strong willingness to learn and continuously grow within the store and industry.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and efficiently.
- Ability to provide and receive feedback to support personal and team development.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. repeatedly.
- Ability to stand and work on your feet for the entire shift.
- Ability to work in cold environments for extended periods of time as needed.
- Knowledge of and ability to comply with all Idaho laws regarding food safety and sanitation.
- Ability to operate kitchen and retail equipment safely and efficiently, including phone and intercom systems, grinders, knives, scales, heat sealers, bailers, and more.
