What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cold End Supervisor (TL I) position at Pilkington North America Inc.?
- Accountable for safety and environmental leadership while on duty; including training, audits, enforcement of work practices and associated corrective measures to ensure a safe working environment. In the event of an incident proper procedures must be followed, including an initial investigation performed on the shift when the incident occurred.
- Provide direction and leadership to the hourly workforce through direct supervision to ensure the completion of the production schedule while achieving optimum performance from the production line. Detailed monitoring of hourly Yields, Losses & KPI’s to anticipate and react to conditions which would lead to lower-than-expected performance.
- Carries out administrational duties to ensure that the correct manning levels to meet production requirements are maintained on all shifts and payroll records are maintained. In addition, verification and completion of shift documentation in the form of a summary report is to be filled out at the conclusion of every shift.
- Work closely with the other supervision within the plant to ensure the production goals of all departments are met, including manning movement within the production / warehouse team and optimization of maintenance.
- Provides support to the Cold End & Materials Manager(s) and Process Improvers for process improvement and performance enhancement. Coordinate training for individual shift crews as required.
- Carry out trouble shooting of problems, changes to process variables to control and optimize the operation.
- Champion the workforce to sustain and improve the standards of housekeeping, orderliness, and cleanliness in all areas of the plant. Coordinate document and implement “Quick Kaizen” generated by shift.

Qualifications Required:
- High School diploma or GED
- 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Good oral and written communication skills.

- Prior supervisory experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Lean Manufacturing experience
- Glass Industry Experience
Salary range $68,016-$85,020.00
