Job Description
Reports to work when scheduled. Attends all mandatory in-services by employee’s anniversary dateCarries out and follows all facility policies and proceduresWorks under the direction of the Housekeeping Director and acts as an active member of the interdisciplinary teamAbility to adjust to changes with shift assignments to meet facility needsHandles all laundry in accordance with sanitary guidelinesSorts all soiled laundry into appropriate categories. Lifts and carries loads of laundry to and from cleaning equipmentWashes, dries, folds and hangs all laundry neatly and properlyIdentifies personal laundry with resident’s name and re-marks personal clothing items, if neededReturns clean resident laundry to appropriate rooms and supply areasCompletes all daily assignments by the supervisorKeeps work area clean and neat and performs cleaning assignments as scheduledWorks in cooperation with all other employees of the facility to maintain a clean and sanitary environment for both residents and staffDemonstrates knowledge of and complies with the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program when performing work functionsOther duties as assigned by Housekeeping DirectorInteracts with residents, family members, co-workers, clinical and ancillary staff in a non-judgmental, supportive and calm mannerAddresses family satisfaction issues immediately by reporting them to the Supervisor in a professional mannerUses facility equipment safelyRecognizes, removes and / or reports potential hazardsDisposes of waste properlyComplies with departmental dress codeUnderstands and complies with all infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained when performing housekeeping proceduresAddresses residents in a respectful manner and knocks prior to entering resident roomsMaintains confidentiality and discusses confidential resident information in appropriate areas onlyAble to stand and walk majority of shiftBend, squat, crouch, reaching frequently. Pushing / pulling occasionallyAble to lift 35 pounds occasionally and over 50 pounds with assistanceQualification
