POSITION OVERVIEW

The Data Manager leads data collection and management across the agency. Reporting to the VP of Advancement, this position collaborates with and supports Pillsbury United Communities staff and leaders to input, organize and contextualize program, administrative and financial data points. The Data Manager supports Pillsbury United staff and leaders to leverage meaningful data for continuous improvement, impact measurement, communications, reports, and evaluation overall. The Manager also supports the implementation of Salesforce, informing the data tools and infrastructure required for the future of Pillsbury United. The ideal candidate possesses knowledge and skills in data management, program evaluation, and data communications. The vision for this role is to drive a more measurable, transparent, predictive, accountable, and sustainable change in the communities we serve.

Primary Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Strategy and Thought Leadership

  • Support agency staff and leaders to develop and iterate key metrics from evaluation plans, logic models, and outcomes
  • Identify data collection gaps and develop practices for data quality
  • Support programs to leverage data for continuous improvement and iterative design
  • Identify data trends to inform program and agency-level decisions

Operations and Outcomes

  • Collect and track program-level data quarterly from agency staff and leaders Model operational excellence
  • Manage storage and cleaning of agency data
  • Interpret, analyze, summarize, and visualize agency data
  • Develop and maintain internal data dashboards and reports with key metrics
  • Compile reports and support agency staff and leaders with program-level reports
  • Ensure accurate and timely data submissions by agency staff and leaders
  • Manage Salesforce database after 2023 launch, including cleaning, audits, updates, and continued configuration
  • People and Community Development

  • Support day-to-day Salesforce implementation until 2023 launch
  • Train and support staff on Salesforce and data tools
  • Support agency staff and leaders with external data partnerships
  • Develop and collaborate on community-centered data products and evaluations
  • Financial Management

  • Plan and manage expenses
  • Provide meaningful data to funders
  • Support cost-benefit analyses leveraging data
  • Required Skills / Experience

  • Experience with data collection, management, analysis, and visualization
  • Strong written, oral, and data communication skills
  • Ability to synthesize complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Preferred expertise in Excel, Tableau, Salesforce, analytic tools, etc.
  • Able to build positive, nonjudgmental relationships with community
  • Open to working in low-income neighborhoods with diverse communities
  • Understanding of appropriate personal boundaries and professional ethics
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings and weekends
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management and accountability skills
