POSITION OVERVIEW

The Head of Programs will serve as a critical member of the executive management team.

In collaboration with the CEO, the Head of Programs will articulate and implement the strategic vision of the agency through its programs and social enterprises; oversee a significant portfolio of programs and related services; ensure the effectiveness of programs; help to promote and diversify funding through effective resource stewardship at an agency with a mix of government funding and private philanthropic support; provide mentoring, guidance, supervision, and professional development to all program staff.

Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership

  • Collaborate with the CEO to craft a forward-looking strategy rooted in equity and anti-racism.
  • Lead efforts to integrate emerging pilot projects into sustainable programming.
  • Maintain a pulse on community trends and adapt initiatives to meet stakeholder needs.

Program Development and Oversight

  • Oversee all programs and services, ensuring quality, innovation, and measurable results.
  • Develop robust performance metrics to track program outcomes and drive improvement.
  • Guide grant and funding proposals, ensuring program alignment with funding opportunities.
  • Team and Equity Leadership

  • Supervise and mentor program leaders, fostering professional growth and a collaborative culture.
  • Create development plans for staff, prioritizing equity and inclusion.
  • Champion an anti-racist work environment and advocate for justice within all programs.
  • Community Engagement and Partnerships

  • Build and sustain partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and funders.
  • Represent Pillsbury United Communities externally to drive advocacy and impact.
  • Deepen relationships with stakeholders to expand program visibility and success.
  • Financial Leadership

  • Partner with the finance team to ensure sustainable program budgets.
  • Align resources with strategic priorities and advocate for equitable funding distribution.
  • Engage in fundraising efforts, leveraging relationships with donors and foundations.
  • Required Qualifications

    Experience : At least 8 years in senior leadership, managing complex, equity-centered programs.

    Skills : Expertise in program design, outcomes measurement, staff mentorship, and community engagement.

    Commitment : Strong alignment with Pillsbury’s mission to dismantle systemic inequities and promote justice.

    Education : Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in nonprofit leadership, public administration, or related fields.

    Compensation and Benefits

    Salary : $100,000–$110,000 annually, competitive within the Twin Cities nonprofit sector.
