MAINTENANCE PLANNER
Role Summary
The Maintenance Planner role is the primary resource for producing detailed, accurate and executable maintenance plans. This role has responsibilities that include planning, scheduling and analyzing maintenance performance, as well as interaction with operations and EHS through Work Permit, LOTO and MOC origination.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with Reliability Engineer, Continuous Improvement Engineer and Operations representative to develop detailed maintenance plans which include:
- Clearly defined maintenance and operations responsibilities.
- Required parts/materials/tools/equipment & skills
- Job hazard review and appropriate PPE for tasks involved
- LOTO plan
- Time & cost estimates
- Work with Storeroom representative to ensure storeroom accuracy including:
- Parts issued to correct work orders
- Parts are added or removed from the storeroom when new equipment is commissioned, or old equipment is removed
- Appropriate Min/Max values are assigned to parts
- General audit of storeroom processes to ensure compliance with established procedures
- Develop PM & PdM work plans
- Assemble work plans to support equipment turnaround activities
- Aligning the maintenance plan with requested job prior to releasing job to scheduling
- Review, evaluate & update detailed maintenance plans
- Update equipment histories to reflect work accomplished and plan for PM event
- Train the maintenance personnel on maintenance plans
- Maintenance Metrics Capture & Analysis
- Assemble, analyze & communicate maintenance performance versus established metrics
- Utilize appropriate analytical tools to identify & prioritize areas for improvement
- Maintenance Small Project Leader
- Fully develop scope, schedule and cost for small project
- Initiate & issue project documentation for business review & approval
- Driving projects to successful completion
- EHS Team Member for Maintenance
- Utilize appropriate processes & documentation for work actions (i.e. Safe Work Permit, LOTO, inspection documentation, etc.)
- Initiate and execute MOC for non-Replace-In-Kind activities
- Mentor/coach maintenance mechanics on environmental practices
- Team Member – Middletown Maintenance/Reliability Improvement First Level
- Drive Best Practice development in operations
- Drive improvements in Equipment Uptime utilizing continuous improvement tools (i.e.: 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, Cause Map, etc.)
- Able to articulate vision/strategy & individual plant contribution to goal
- Engage operators to identify & drive Best Practices in operations
- Drive MOC use in operations
Competencies
Required:
- Physical-science degree and/or relevant work experience
- Proven verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with teams as both a leader and member.
- Ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skills to achieve process improvements.
- Team player with good relationships with peers, subordinates, and superiors.
- Proven “hands on” skills that include measuring and improving process performance and leading, instructing, and training others in those improvements.
- Ability to reach all work areas in the plant (i.e. climb ladders, negotiate catwalks, handle heights to 50 feet, etc.), to lift twist and turn up to 50 lb. (i.e. open and close large valves, inspect equipment, don emergency PPE, etc.) and to expeditiously lead plant emergencies.
- Competency in process design and optimization.
- Due to safety sensitive nature of job, must pass regular & routine chemical dependency testing.
Recommended:
- Cross-functional experience in manufacturing areas (EHS&S, Quality, SC)
- Process Control programming skills a plus.
- Good personal computer skills, preferably experience with MS Office.
- Training in organization and time management.
