Position Summary :
Implement blister packaging design requirements. Assist Director of Engineering in implementing new production machinery. Design manufacturing machinery and production process improvements.
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities :
- Implement new packaging as prescribed by the Product Management group from concept to production. This includes die-line review for blister artwork, sample packaging development, and tooling procurement as required from outside vendors.
- Create 3d software models, engineering drawings, and procure tooling and machinery parts for production equipment as needed.
- Develop and maintain blister hardware, paper insert and Herma label tooling, as well as digital UV printing tooling trays.
- Maintain licensing for CAD, PLC, and production support software.
- Support Promotional Department in the use and basic maintenance of digital UV printing, Silkscreen, and Pad Printing machinery. Includes maintaining outside services contracts and training.
- Coordinate the effective procurement and implementation of packaging machinery, assembly equipment, and various production support equipment related to capital expenditure requirements.
- Communicate and work with Manufacturing and Distribution departments in essential problem-solving activities that require technical or engineering support.
- Support Maintenance department in maintaining production equipment such as blister machinery, label applicators, case sealing, silkscreen and UV digital printing, and pen assembly. Includes research and purchasing spare parts as well as soliciting OEM support.
- Develop building, machinery, and departmental layouts for management as needed for permitting, reorganization, process analysis, safety, and HAZCOM activities.
- Maintain and organize Engineering Drawing Library to include project files, machine drawings and manuals.
- Procure, operate, and maintain engineering plotter and 3d printing machines.
Education and Experience Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Manufacturing preferred) with up to 5 years of experience.
Skills Required :
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the capability to multi-task and work independently. Attention to detail with strong mathematical and interpersonal skills are required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, CAD, and PLC software. Knowledge of 3d printing technology.
