Director, PTL Marine East Operations

Position Summary:

Leading All Operations across the PTL Marine East Business Segment.

Overseeing 4) Large Marine Terminals, Team-Members, Safety, Vessels and Customer Deliveries and Logistics.

Responsible for developing, managing and executing process improvement initiatives. Provide strategic guidance to the business regarding process improvements, operational excellence, making concise recommendations while improving overall efficiencies. Identify business risks and business tasks for improvement of processes. Ensures the performance of all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Leads process improvement efforts regionally (and in some cases corporately) by coordinating with stakeholders to develop and manage operation projects that address critical business needs.
• Manages the review, analysis, and evaluation of business processes selected for operations improvement projects, working directly with various units to ensure the correct methodologies are applied.
• Facilitates development of the project charter with executive sponsor to define goals, objectives and key deliverables for operation projects. Responsible for all operation project deliverables, including project scope, work plan, schedule, communications, and roles and responsibilities.

• Leads and manages teams through all project phases. Develops regular report metrics for all work streams as well as any internal initiatives with integration points and/or dependencies that support the successful delivery of the improvement project.
• Collaborates with process leaders and process users to ensure integration of projects, making recommendations to and adjusting project recommendations, scope, and timing as needed to meet the overall strategic needs of the organization.
• Responsible for planning and controlling schedules, determining project return on investment, assigning tasks and resources, and tracking key project milestones from initiation through delivery.
• Collaborates with process leaders and process users to ensure integration of projects, making recommendations to and adjusting project recommendations, scope, and timing as needed to meet the overall strategic needs of the organization.
• Collaborates with business & functional process leaders and process users to ensure integration of projects, making recommendations to and adjusting project recommendations, scope, and timing as needed to meet the overall strategic needs of the organization.

• Examples of key initiative processes:
• On Time Delivery (OTD); Field operations liaison with procurement team to ensure success of process, and profitability.
• Business performance; lead one or more terminals regarding Environmental Health and Safety, Service Performance & Customer Effectiveness, and Profitability metrics.

Other Functions:

• Special projects as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Marine Capex Projects

Minimum Requirements:

• 10 years of process improvement experience with planning, project management, business analysis, and leadership role experience.
• Specific propane products knowledge preferred.
• Strong listening and presentation skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.
• Excellent verbal and writing communications skills.
• Experience with DM2 software core applications.

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree required in a related field.
• Masters in business administration preferred

Working Conditions:

• Have a strong commitment to safe working practices.
• Extended schedule may be required as dictated by management and business needs.
• May be required to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to ten (10) pounds.
• May be required to sit and review information on a computer screen for long periods of time.
• May require repetitive motions of the hands and wrist related to writing and typing at an electronic keyboard.
