Pilz Automation Safety L.P. is technology leader in safe automation technology. Pilz is currently seeking two interns based in our Canton, MI office. The Services Intern will report to the Director Key Account Sales & Services and work on a wide variety of projects from the Pilz Services portfolio. Services Interns will have an opportunity to support customers across many industries seeing a vast array of industrial machinery.
The Services Intern will work closely with Pilz Safety Engineers and Pilz Safety Consultants on machine reviews, standards research, report/documentation creation, and report delivery to customers.
This is a temporary position (summer 2025) typically requiring 40 hours per week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
} Review customer-provided information/documentation and corresponding standards
} Review Engineering drawings and perform safety calculations
} Data entry including creation of Excel spreadsheets and reports
} Assist Product Management in supplying technical documentation to customers as needed
} Create internal Consulting processes; provide recommendations for improvement
} Digitization of Services documents
} Participate in customer conferences calls and planning sessions
} Initiate internal communications with Pilz Sales, Consultants, Engineers, and others, as needed, to complete duties
} Other duties as assigned
There may be opportunity for on-site customer visit(s) either local or requiring over-night travel. Any travel-related expenses would be paid for by Pilz.
Minimum Qualifications:
} Candidates should be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or similar with Sophomore standing or higher
} Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
} Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with others effectively
} Excellent organizational, planning and follow-up skills
} Proficient with MS Office
} Willingness to learn Pilz products and procedures
} Self-motivated, well-organized and team oriented
Physical Requirements: (reasonable accommodations will be made where possible)
} Seated for extended periods; extensive screen (computer) time
} Meet any physical safety requirements set by customer(s) for on-site visit(s)
To provide a well-rounded experience, candidates should expect to work as a Pilz Services Intern for approximately six (6) weeks and as a Pilz Product Intern for approximately six (6) weeks. Only one application is necessary to be considered for both positions.
