Job Summary
Under general supervision, transport children to and from school and school activities ensuring the safety of passengers at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive a 77-passenger school bus.
- Monitor the safety of passengers during and after transportation, including safety belt use, child safety seats, and smoking prohibitions.
- Keep accurate records of vehicle use, including mileage, daily inspection reports, and routine maintenance.
Additional Duties
- Assist preschool teachers and teacher's aides with in-classroom learning activities when not transporting children.
- Promote playground safety and developmentally appropriate outdoor play, and assist with the supervision of children on field trips.
- Observe strict confidentiality guidelines regarding children and families.
Requirements
- Az Commercial Driver's License with School Bus Endorsement.
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- First Aid/CPR certification within the 90-day introductory period.
- Pass an extensive background check.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of addresses and locations of students in and around the Ak-Chin Indian Community.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, other staff, and with the public.
- Skill in following oral and written instructions, policies, and procedures.
