Summary :
Under general supervision, performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled work to construct, remodel, and / or maintain Community facilities and residences.
Minimum Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED and experience equivalent to two years full time general construction or closely related skilled trades work or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. Experience in the HVAC field and Universal EPA refrigerant certification preferred or be willing to complete courses and obtain within one (1) year of hire date. Must have a valid Arizona Driver's License and be able to meet the Community's insurance carrier requirements. Must successfully complete a background check.
Examples of Duties :
- Performs skilled work in a variety of construction trades, including concrete finisher, carpentry, masonry, plumbing, and electrical, to construct, remodel, and / or maintain Community facilities and residences.
- Reads / interprets and follows plans, blueprints, and sketches of proposed construction / remodel projects; installs / repairs plumbing fixtures, doors, windows; builds shelving; forms / finishes concrete projects.
- Performs a variety of manual and semi-skilled activities associated with gas and water / wastewater line maintenance / construction, including locating gas or water / wastewater lines, and tapping gas and water / wastewater main lines.
- Operates a variety of medium construction equipment, including backhoe, front end loader, and dump truck, as needed.
- Maintains preventive maintenance schedules and procedures for HVAC equipment, including changing of filters and cleaning condensers and coils.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
