Position Title: Design Editor for SandScript (Temporary, Part-Time)Department: CommunicationsRate of Pay: $1,100.00 per projectClosed Date: February 11, 2025; 5:00 PM Arizona Time Position Summary:Design and layout of print and digital editions for 2025 SandScript Arts and Literary Magazine. The Design Editor will have approximately 1.5 months to complete the assigned work. Expected to attend some WRT 162 class meetings. This will require a time commitment during the Spring 2025 semester, from February to the beginning of May (magazine launch to occur before semester end). All products expected to be complete and ready for publication by the SandScript Launch party in early May. This position is a great opportunity for Pima Community College students interested in working in the publishing industry and developing a design portfolio.The work schedule for this position may include working evenings and weekends.Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED)
- Knowledge and previous experience with InDesign, with layout design and multipage document skills required
- Knowledge and previous experience using Adobe CS
- Knowledge and previous experience using Photoshop
- Attach a Letter of Recommendation, from a current Pima Digital Arts faculty member, with the application
- Attach a design portfolio or a link to a portfolio
- Creativity in design
- Ability to work with the editorial staff
- Knowledge of Adobe CS
- Knowledge of InDesign
- Knowledge of Photoshop
- Ability to create a digital magazine in Yumpu
Salary : $1,100
