Instructor - Upward Bound (Temporary, Part-time)

Position Title: Instructor - Upward Bound (Temporary, Part-Time, up to 19.5 hours per week)Department: Desert Vista CampusRate of Pay: $26.38/hourClosed Date: April 25, 2025; 5:00 PM Arizona Time

Position Summary:The students attend academic classes specifically designed for them during the academic year and during our summer component as well. We are seeking to staff the following classes:

• Science
• Math (All levels)
• Foreign Languages
• Social Sciences
• English/Writing
• We are especially interested in individuals that have extensive knowledge of standardized tests
  
  

The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends. Tentative days/hours are Monday – Friday from 9:00am - 12:00pm & 12:25pm - 3:25 pm (days/hours will vary depending on assignment).Continued employment in the position is contingent upon continued funding through designated external sources. This grant is set to expire on 06/30/2025.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for teaching a diverse population of high school students in various non-credit enrichment classes
• Prepare instructional materials, lesson plans, and classroom presentations
• Develop, review, and revise curriculum; assess, evaluate and document students’ skills and progress
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
  
  

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and
• Two years of teaching experience
  
  

or

• An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
  
  

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree
