Position Summary:The Maintenance Technician 1, Mechanic - Fleet Services is responsible for providing intermediate service and repair of College vehicles, golf carts, UTV’s, tractors and other equipment while providing exceptional customer service.The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform intermediate service and repairs of College road vehicles to include: inspections, troubleshooting, and diagnostics of engine and transmissions, mechanical, electrical, suspension systems, cooling systems, air conditioning, fuel systems including diesel, and brake systems
- Performs service and repair of off-road equipment including electric golf carts, UTV’s, small tractors, trailering equipment, and sports field equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance to include engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, brake and suspension service, replacing filters, multi-point inspections
- Repair or replace worn parts, such as brake pads and wheel bearings
- Test and lubricate the vehicle’s engine and other major components
- Test drive vehicles to determine repair needs and confirm repairs have been completed properly
- Maintains vehicle service records in a computerized system
- Disassemble and reassemble parts
- Operate machinery, equipment, and a variety of power and hand tools associated with vehicle maintenance and repair
- Ensure repairs are effective by using testing equipment
- Use computerized diagnostic equipment to determine mechanical maintenance needs
- Assists in the pick up and delivery of vehicles to and from College sites and service vendors
- Operate a variety of vehicles with automatic transmissions
- Maintain and clean equipment and tools
- Use safe work practices, to include proper lifting and carrying, automotive lift safety, and other automotive specific safety methods
- Follow applicable federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Communicate clearly both orally and in writing sufficient to receive and convey instructions to perform the duties of the job
- Operate as part of a team
- Attend training provided by the College as well as external training
- High School diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED) and
- One year of related experience as a automotive technician experience in a professional environment and
- Valid Arizona Driver's License and demonstration of an acceptable driving record and
- ASE A1, A4 and A5 certification and
- Additional ASE A, E, L or T Series certifications a plus including Master Tech
- An equivalent combination of certification, education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above
- Five years of automotive service experience with one year being advanced
