What are the responsibilities and job description for the Professional Skills Curriculum Writer (Five (5) positions position at Pima County JTED?
- Writers must complete the Lesson Plan Writing Training Course (~16 hours, self-paced) before developing curriculum materials.
- Must be able to complete work in person at the JTED @ Masterpieces campus on these dates, June 2nd-June 12th(Mon-Thu only) 2025.
- Develop lesson resources aligned with the Arizona Professional Skills and instructional resource documents.
- Revise and adjust lessons as recommended by the editorial team.
- Meet assigned deadlines and participate in scheduled summer curriculum writing sessions.
- All lesson resources will undergo a comprehensive review using the Editor’s Rubric before final approval and payment.
- Lessons prepared for this project may not be created using AI platforms
- AZ CTE Teaching Certificate or equivalent relevant teaching experience
- Two years of experience as a CTE teacher
- Completion of or willingness to complete the Lesson Plan Writing Training Course
- Strong writing, organization, and curriculum development skills
- Letter of recommendation from a CTE Director or CTE Administrator
- Experience in curriculum development, lesson planning, and instructional resource design
- May be required to lift and carry heavy, bulky supplies and materials weighing up to 50 pounds
- May be required to work outside normal working hours
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Growth mindset with a willingness to incorporate feedback
- Strong attention to detail and ability to align lessons with standards
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Google Drive applications, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Unit/Project Bundle: Equivalent of 3-55min lessons and 2-30 min activities = $1,125.00 at time of completion and approval
Single Lesson: 55 min stand-alone lesson = $300.00 at time of completion and approval
Position Summary:
The Professional Skills Curriculum Writer will develop high-quality, standards-aligned lesson resources that support the Arizona Professional Skills. Writers will be responsible for creating instructional materials, including lesson plans and activities.
