The Pima County Recorder's Office is seeking a Voter Outreach Coordinator to conduct voter outreach initiatives within the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. The successful candidate must have some understanding of the Pascua Yaqui communities' culture or have worked for the tribe. This position will also be required to drive large haul trucks.
This classification is in the unclassified service and is exempt from the Pima County Merit System Rules.
Essential Functions

Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in public or business administration, political science, communications, public relations, education, social work, or a related field as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment AND one year of experience working in community outreach, elections, or communications.
(Relevant experience and/or education from an accredited college or university may be substituted.)
Or
Two years in a voter registration or election-related position in Arizona or equivalent as determined by the department head at the time of recruitment.

Licenses and Certificates: Valid driver license is required at time of application. Valid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicant’s suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination. Any offer of employment resulting from this recruitment is contingent upon Fleet Services’ review and approval of the candidate’s driving record.
Special Notice Items: The County requires pre-employment background checks. Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include verification of work history, education, and criminal conviction history. A prior criminal conviction will not automatically disqualify a candidate from employment with the County.

- Plans, organizes, and executes voter outreach programs and events to increase voter education and engagement within the community;
- Develops and distributes informational materials to educate the public on voter registration, election processes, and voting rights;
- Coordinates with community organizations, local schools, and other groups to promote voter registration and participation;
- Conducts voter registration drives to ensure eligible voters are registered and informed about upcoming elections;
- Manages and updates voter outreach databases, tracking engagement and outreach efforts to measure effectiveness;
- Provides training and guidance to volunteers and staff involved in voter outreach activities and events;
- Acts as a liaison between the Pima County elections office and the community, answering questions and addressing concerns regarding voting procedures;
- Develops social media campaigns and online content to promote voter education and encourage participation in elections;
- Monitors and analyzes voting trends and data to identify target communities and develop tailored outreach strategies;
- Organizes and attends community events, fairs, and meetings to provide direct voter education and registration support;
- Responds to inquiries from voters, providing information and clarification on election procedures, registration, and eligibility;
- Ensures compliance with all state and federal election laws and regulations related to voter outreach and registration;
- Prepares reports and presentations on outreach efforts, providing updates and recommendations to county officials and stakeholders.
