- Conduct student interviews to assess financial aid needs and eligibility.
- Review and evaluate financial information, similar to assessing loan applications, to determine funding options.
- Maintain accurate student financial aid documentation and ensure compliance with institutional and federal regulations.
- Assist students with completing financial aid forms and educate them on repayment responsibilities, drawing on loan counseling techniques.
- Counsel veteran students, ensuring compliance with Department of Veterans Affairs guidelines.
- Manage student payment plans, contact students with outstanding balances, and recommend feasible payment solutions.
- Perform financial analysis to assist in structuring financial aid packages, akin to loan underwriting.
- Track and process financial aid documentation, including ISIRs and federal fund releases.
- Audit student files for completeness and accuracy, identifying discrepancies as one would with financial account audits.
- Coordinate with Admissions regarding financial aid appointments to provide seamless student support.
- Maintain familiarity with lending practices and financial policies relevant to student funding.
- Critical Thinking: Apply analytical skills in evaluating financial aid eligibility and payment options.
- Communication: Articulate complex financial concepts in a clear and relatable manner.
- Customer Service: Build trust and rapport with students, using a consultative approach akin to client relationship management.

- 3 years of experience in financial aid assistance, banking, or loan processing.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to support client interactions and compliance documentation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and financial systems.
- Ability to access Department of Education systems, with familiarity in loan origination and servicing platforms preferred.
- Exceptional customer service skills, with an emphasis on financial guidance.
- Experience with loan counseling or financial analysis.
- Associate's degree from an accredited institution.
- Knowledge of Title IV funding and banking regulations.
