MEDICAL ASSISTANT/PAIN MANAGEMENT JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under general supervision of the Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Manager, this position is responsible for assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care, as well as implementing and evaluating direct patient care. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills to provide excellent patient experiences.
A Pain Management Medical Assistant plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of a pain management practice and assisting with patient care to improve their quality of life. Duties may vary based on the specific clinic working at and will generally include a combination of administrative, clinical, and patient care tasks.
Essential Functions:
- Patient Assessment: Taking vital signs, collecting detailed information about patient's pain history, HPI, ROS, and chief complaint.
- Assist with Procedures: Helping health care providers during pain management procedures. Assist with wheeling patients in wheelchairs post procedure
- Preparing Equipment: Ensuring the right medical tools and equipment are sterile and ready for use.
- Preparing Orders: Coordinating urine drug screens, diagnostic imaging.
- Patient Comfort and Support: Ensuring patients are comfortable during their visits and explaining what they can expect during treatments or procedures.
- Follow up care: Scheduling follow up appointments, assisting with any aftercare instructions, and providing support to patient's post-treatment.
- Patient Advocacy: Acting as an advocate for patients in addressing any concerns they may have regarding their treatment plan.

Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program
- MUST HAVE 2-3 years Clinical Medical Assistant Experience
- MUST have flexibility to be scheduled at different locations. (schedules will come out ahead of time)
- Availability to work full time Mon-Fri 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Current TB, within 1 year of start date
- Hepatitis B Vaccinations or positive titer
- Current BLS
