Position Description
The Retirement / Defined Contribution Distribution business within PIMCO is responsible for developing, servicing, and growing assets under management within the U.S. retirement market. The Retirement Sales team (RST) focuses primarily on the Defined Contribution (401(k), Defined Benefit, 457, 403(b), profit-sharing plans) segments of the retirement market, providing sales expertise and specialized product support for various management affiliates and a variety of distribution channels.
We are seeking an Account Manager, Retirement Sales with established industry contacts and strong relationships with advisors, consultants, and platform providers in the Southeast region of the US, to join our RST. In this role, you will work closely with members of both the Retirement and Retail Distribution teams, directing a broad range of territory-specific discussions, sales, and ongoing client servicing initiatives. This position will focus on the Southeast Region of the United States.
You will leverage your expertise in retirement markets to support and grow Defined Contribution assets under management, focusing on core investment options and target date strategies. You will collaborate with key retirement advisors and consultants, providing ongoing sales support and developing new relationships within the Southeast territory. Additionally, you will analyze industry data to enhance product positioning and create effective sales tools.
General responsibilities include coordinating retirement messages and positioning investment solutions, managing territory sales, and maintaining relationships. A thorough understanding of the changing retirement market is critical to success.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Stay informed on the latest trends in retirement markets and understand how PIMCO investment solutions meet specific retirement plan needs.
- Collaborate with key retirement advisors to increase Defined Contribution assets under management, focusing on core investment options and target date strategies.
- Provide continuous sales support for key distribution platforms and retirement specialists within the territory.
- Build and maintain relationships with small to mid-sized DC-focused consultants.
- Assist retail wholesalers in developing new retirement advisors.
- Analyze industry and portfolio data to support competitive analyses, product positioning, and the creation of sales tools.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of specific retirement opportunities within the Southeast region.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of PIMCO's products, platforms, themes, initiatives, markets, strategies, and policies of our clients and partner firms.
- Ensure the highest level of compliance with all industry standards, client firm requirements, and PIMCO policies, including adherence to all legislative and regulatory requirements.
- Comply with all travel and expense reimbursement and activity reporting in a timely manner.

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
Salary Range : $ 205,000.00 - $ 240,000.00
