JOB SUMMARY
Supervise activities of Custodians on an assigned work shift, assign work, train staff, and review work to assure effective completion of cleaning and maintenance of County buildings for the Facilities Management Department under basic supervision.

TYPICAL CLASSIFICATION ESSENTIAL DUTIES :
- Supervise, schedule, assign, and inspect the work activities of custodial staff on an assigned shift.
- Coordinate the preparation for routine and special events and activities, identify and resolve problem.
- Manage and distribute inventory of supplies, equipment, and materials.
- Train staff and assign a variety of custodial and manual labor tasks in County facilities.
- Update custodial MSD sheets and inform staff of new chemicals.
- Review Custodians' work and assure compliance with Department standards.
- Plan and supervise major cleaning projects for facilities as directed.
- Process and assign work orders, complete required daily logs, evaluations, and reports.
- Inspect and maintain assigned custodial equipment and small tools for proper operating condition.
- Monitor work and verify that staff follows all safety rules and regulations and report safety hazards, equipment problems, repair needs, security issues, and emergency situations.
- Perform work of Custodian as needed to meet workload demands.
- Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer records, and restricted County information.
- Perform other related duties as required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :
The work is medium and requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and / or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The work also requires the ability to finger, feel, grasp, handle, reach, kneel, lift, perform repetitive motion, stoop, stand, walk, hear, speak, and demonstrate mental and visual acuity.
