EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
TYPICAL CLASSIFICATION ESSENTIAL DUTIES: Manage the non-judicial activities of the Justice Court. Assist the Judge with planning, directing, managing, and overseeing the activities and operations of the Justice Court. Direct the activities of court employees, coordinate assigned activities with other departments and outside agencies, and coordinate multiple activities and resources including staff, supplies, equipment, funds, and contract resources. Provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Judge. Evaluate and prioritize work and responsibilities of court staff. Prepare and submit all required financial reports for the court, prepare and submit applications for funds, and submit required reports regarding use of approved funds. Reconcile bond and restitution accounts, monitor budget, and assist with budget preparation. Order supplies, equipment and furniture as needed and audit bills and ensure compliance with Minimum Accounting Standards. Analyze statistical and monetary reports monthly and provide operational statistics, reports, and recommendations to management. Manage case flow ensuring that cases are in compliance with court rules, court orders, and statutory reporting requirements within designated timelines. Monitor case files for accuracy and completeness, correct errors and assist clerks with corrections, instruct clerks on eliminating errors, and review case management policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency of the court. Respond to and resolve difficult and sensitive citizen inquiries and complaints. Develop ideas to improve efficiency and forecast the future of the court, review and analyze legislative changes to determine impact on the court, and stay current on all programs affecting operation of the court. Serve as primary contact for outside agencies. Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, customer records, and restricted County information. Perform other related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Skill in applying judgment in application of established policies, goals, and objectives, and in application of concepts, plans, and strategies which may deviate from traditional methods and practices.Ability to provide excellent customer service.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is sedentary and requires exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
