We’re looking for a bright and motivated Senior Project Manager to join our Environmental Remediation team in Berkley, Lansing, or Grand Rapids, Michigan.


As the ideal candidate, you are excited to join our project team to help our clients make informed decisions regarding Leaking Underground Storage Tanks, property acquisitions, re-development, and contaminated sites management. In this role you will learn about the business, build your own professional network and work closely with senior professionals in the industry. The Senior Project Manager position is ideal for someone looking to build their skills for career advancement and professional growth. The ideal candidate will be familiar with relevant Michigan regulations and have at least 5 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry.


A Day in the life of Senior Project Manager


  • Manage Project Implementation - With assigned project teams, ensure that all steps and procedures are taken according to industry and PM standards and that all work is completed as planned and scheduled. This includes providing adequate management, advice, and support to the members of the project team.
  • Client Management – Work directly with the client to understand the project goals, timeline and milestones and work with assigned project teams to keep the client informed of the on-going status of a project.
  • Maintain Project Status - Work with members of the project teams to maintain effective project status organization/reporting systems, avoid or eliminate conflicts in schedule due to the changes in project schedules, and maintain overall organization to be able to respond to internal and external requests.
  • Provide Technical Advice – Provide adequate guidance, advice, recommendations, and support to the members of the project team and clients.
  • Prepare High Quality Reports – Ensure that all work is completed as planned and scheduled, the review process and other quality control guidelines are followed, and that final reports and presentations are prepared in accordance with industry and PM standard.
  • Preparation and presentation of training materials necessary to successfully complete affordable housing projects, including coordination with Operation Managers to ensure effective training is conducted across Service Lines.
  • Develop, maintain, and update internal guidance documents, templates, and references necessary to complete affordable housing projects, including updating as necessary in accordance with applicable agency requirements and new funding sources.
  • Ensure that reports produced are reflective of the high-quality management, administrative and technical services provided by PM, including peer and senior technical review of reports.
  • Provide constructive feedback to colleagues regarding methods to improve report clarity, content and usefulness to the end user.
  • Review of and working knowledge of current Federal, State and/or local agency requirements, industry specific information, and available funding sources.
  • Forecast new funding sources, understand requirements, and communicate requirements as necessary to staff.
  • Represent the firm when appropriate with regulatory agencies, including municipal, local, state, and federal agencies.
  • Be a Public Relations Ambassador – Identify presentation opportunities and be proactive in preparing, presenting and communicating the capabilities and strengths of the company to all publics, with the marketing group and your supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.


What you bring to the Pinchin team


  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Environmental Consulting; experience with affordable housing projects and various funding sources is a must.
  • Ability to work in various settings and climates.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • A valid driver’s license, or the ability to obtain one in the state in which you are working.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and be available for travel
  • Ability to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision, and the ability to pass a company physical
