We’re looking for a bright and motivated Business Development Associate to join our team in the Hamilton, New Jersey region.

As the ideal candidate, you are excited to join our project team to help our clients make informed decisions regarding business development, property acquisitions, re-development, and contaminated sites management. In this role you will learn about the business, build your own professional network and work closely with senior professionals in the industry. The Business Development Associate position is ideal for someone looking to build their skills for career advancement and professional growth. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in the environmental consulting industry.

A Day in the life of Business Development Associate

  • Assist with growth of existing & new clients through online, Google Searches, LinkedIn, social media, and research.
  • Assist with website Inquiry Submission development (with marketing team) and management of inquiries.
  • Assist with lead generation through industry publications and resources such as Envirobidnet, others as defined.
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and develop targeted sales strategies.
  • Utilize industry databases, networking events, and other resources to build a robust pipeline of potential clients.
  • Client Resource Management (CRM) data entry and build out, assist with development of Marketing Campaigns, Client & Contact Entry & Edits, Activities updates, Opportunity Reports and/or follow up preparation.
  • Communicate and follow up with existing and potential clients with direction from sales and operational leaders.
  • Act as a point of contact for client inquiries and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Assist with Request for Proposal (RFP) internal dissemination and scheduling of deadlines for existing clients.
  • Work with team on proposal submissions/uploading to client portals.
  • Assist with Sales Brochures, factsheets, PowerPoint slides needed for presentations, meetings.
  • Work with marketing team to assist on Technical Staff resumes (including updates) & Project descriptions development on regular, ongoing basis.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to ensure proposals accurately reflect project scope and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with marketing and sales teams to register for association, professional organizations, industry events and tradeshows, as requested.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of sales and marketing efforts.
  • Assist Program Manager, Client Development with set-up of internal regional business development meetings, individual office client/prospect meetings and updating BD excel and word documents as well as Teams, SharePoint documents.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What you bring to the Pinchin team

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental or related field (Business, Sales, or Marketing preferred).
  • 3-6 years of proven experience in business development (environmental consulting industry preferred).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethic and a results-oriented approach.
  • Experience with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and tracking of proposal metrics preferred.
  • Experience with specific environmental disciplines (e.g., permitting, site assessment, due diligence, remediation) preferred.
  • Existing network of contacts within the environmental industry preferred.
  • Ability to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision and Distance vision.
