High School Science Teacher – Earth Science & Chemistry

Position Overview:
Pinckney Community Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Science Teacher to teach Earth Science and Chemistry. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a rigorous, engaging, and student-centered classroom environment, and demonstrate a strong commitment to academic excellence and the personal growth of each student.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and standards-aligned instruction in Earth Science and Chemistry to high school students.
- Develop lesson plans that accommodate diverse learning styles and differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs.
- Design and implement laboratory experiments and hands-on learning experiences that reinforce scientific concepts and promote critical thinking.
- Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, using data to inform instruction.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom culture that promotes student success and respect for all learners.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student performance and classroom activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues in professional learning communities to develop interdisciplinary and cross-curricular lessons.
- Maintain accurate and timely student records in accordance with school policies and procedures.
- Participate in school-wide initiatives, including professional development, school improvement planning, and extracurricular events.
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in DX (Science),
- Demonstrated expertise in Earth Science, Chemistry and Physics content areas.
- Strong instructional, classroom management, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in integrating educational technology and online learning tools into classroom instruction.
- Ability to establish effective relationships with students, staff, and families.
- Commitment to fostering a culturally responsive, inclusive learning environment.
- Ability to adapt curriculum and instruction for students with diverse learning needs.
Compensation & Benefits: Per the Pinckney Community Schools PEA agreement
