Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Operation:
- Operate highwall mining equipment to extract coal or minerals from the highwall.
- Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments as necessary to ensure optimal operation.
- Ensure the safe and efficient movement of extracted materials from the highwall to designated storage or processing areas.
Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Conduct pre-operational checks and routine maintenance of equipment to ensure it is in safe working condition.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor immediately.
Production Monitoring:
- Track and record production data, including the amount of material extracted and the operational hours of equipment.
- Work closely with supervisors and other team members to meet production targets.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform basic maintenance tasks on equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.

- WV Surface Miner Certification
- Previous experience operating highwall mining equipment or similar machinery is preferred.
